You Can Have It All—Just Not All at Once: Embracing Life’s Timing

We live in a world that tells us we should have it all—and that we should have it now.

We’re sold this idea that if we’re not juggling everything at once—career, relationships, self-growth, creativity, travel, health, finances, family—then we’re somehow falling behind.

But here’s the truth: You can have it all. Just not all at once.

Life isn’t meant to be a sprint where we gather every single thing we desire in one chaotic grab. It’s meant to unfold in seasons, each one giving us exactly what we need when we’re ready for it.

And when we trust that timing—when we surrender to the natural rhythm of life—we stop rushing and start living.

The Myth of Having It All at the Same Time

Somewhere along the way, we picked up this belief that we should be able to do everything at once.

Be the best partner, the best friend, the best entrepreneur, the healthiest version of ourselves, the most creative we’ve ever been—all while making time for self-care, social events, deep inner work, financial success, and, of course, spiritual enlightenment.

And when we can’t keep up? We feel like we’re failing.

But here’s the thing: multitasking our life doesn’t actually work.

When we spread ourselves too thin, nothing gets our full attention. We move through life on autopilot, always thinking about what’s next instead of fully experiencing what’s now.

And that’s where burnout happens—not just physically, but emotionally.

We think we have to do more to feel fulfilled. But maybe we need to do less.

Life Moves in Seasons

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that life isn’t meant to be lived all at once. It’s meant to be lived in seasons.

There’s a season for building.
A season for resting.
A season for growing.
A season for slowing down.

Each one gives us what we need at the right time.

  • Maybe right now, your season is about deepening your relationships.

  • Maybe your season is about putting your energy into a creative project.

  • Maybe it’s about career growth.

  • Maybe it’s about healing and just being.

But whatever season you’re in, trust that it’s where you’re meant to be. You don’t have to rush to the next one.

Because everything that is meant for you will come in its own perfect timing.

How Trusting Life’s Timing Changes Everything

I can think of so many moments when I wanted everything to happen at once—when I felt like I needed to be further along, doing more, achieving more.

And every time, life gently reminded me: Not yet.

Because some things needed time to grow.
Some things needed me to be ready.
Some things needed to unfold in ways I couldn’t control.

And every single time, when I finally let go and trusted the timing of it all, things happened exactly as they were meant to.

  • The opportunities came when I was actually prepared for them.

  • The relationships deepened when I had the space to nurture them.

  • The healing arrived when I slowed down enough to let it in.

So now, when I catch myself wanting to rush life, I remind myself:

You can have it all. Just not all at once.

And that simple truth takes the pressure off.

How to Embrace Life’s Timing

So how do we stop rushing? How do we actually live instead of constantly trying to get to the next thing?

1. Ask Yourself: What Season Am I In?

Instead of trying to do everything, get clear on what matters most right now. What is your current season asking of you? Where does your energy naturally want to go?

2. Stop Comparing Your Timeline to Others’

Just because someone else is in their season of expansion doesn’t mean you should be too. Your path is your own. Trust it.

3. Practice Presence

Life is happening now—not in some distant future where you “finally have it all.” The more present you are, the more you’ll realize you already have everything you need in this moment.

4. Let Go of the Timeline in Your Head

That imaginary deadline you’ve set for yourself? The one that says you should have reached certain milestones by now? Release it. Things will unfold exactly as they’re meant to.

5. Celebrate Where You Are

Instead of fixating on where you should be, celebrate where you are. Honor the season you’re in. Find joy in it. That’s what makes life feel full.

The Freedom in Trusting Life’s Flow

When you stop trying to force everything to happen at once, life starts to feel lighter.

You begin to trust that what’s meant for you won’t pass you by.
You stop exhausting yourself with timelines and expectations.
You start to enjoy your life instead of just chasing after it.

Because having it all isn’t about doing more.

It’s about being fully present with what’s in front of you.

And when you embrace that, you realize—you already have everything.
